How do I know if I have a yeast infection?
Yeast infections can be very uncomfortable, but are usually not serious. Symptoms include the following:
* Itching and burning in the vagina and around the vulva (the skin that surrounds your vagina)
* A white vaginal discharge that may look like cottage cheese
* Pain during sexual intercourse
* Swelling of the vulva
Yeast infections are so common that 3/4 of women will have one at some time in their lives. Half of all women have more than one infection in their lives. If you have symptoms of a yeast infection, your doctor will probably want to talk to you about your symptoms and examine you to make sure a yeast infection is the cause.

Most common symptom is itching.....can be accompanied by burning, discharge (more than normal)....and sometimes an odor.....you can treat a yeast infection with an over the counter treatment like Monistat or Canesten .....if your symptoms become worse or your condition doesnt improve you should see a doctor. Remember, yeast is a fungal bacteria and if you have a sexual encounter while having a yeast infection you can give this to your partner. Make sure your infection has cleared up to avoid reinfected each other and making your recovery longer than necessary.

You will have a white/tan dis-charge from the vagina, it will look kind of like cottage cheese, and it will kind of have an odor to it! You will also feel a little bit of iching and burning as well.
If you can, the best thing to do is to go the the doctor. It can be a GYNO or just a family doctor. They can prescribe you a cream or even a pill to get ride of it, and a cream to get ride of any iching that you might have.
If you really cant go to the doctor, (i suggest you do though) you can go to any wal-mart of drug store and buy some Monostate 1 or another brand of cream to get ride of it. If you do have iching, you can buy a cream called Vagisil or something of that sort. You sould be able to find all of these products in the womens section at these stores. If you do not get rid of this within 3 days of using an at home method, you should def. go to the doctor.
You should also start wearing lose jeans and cotton panties. At night, sleep with very lose shorts on with no panties, or just nothing at all!
