by golly, i spelled it out wrong. i meant to say i know what it is like to be young (not you, sorry sir or madam?). i beg your pardon(s). it is okay ma, i am just dying (bob dylan 1966 est.). i would like to point out one other thing, i once used to know it all, too.

You meant to say: You know what it is like to be young but the young do not know what it is like to be old. An Orsen Wells poetry recording, I recall. You are tired and probably taking meds and you are frustrated with your prospects. You are like most of us become over time. You sometimes dream about the final sounds of the dirt they shovel onto your coffin. Understandably, you are not overjoyed hearing those whispy, muted sounds. It becomes too real when you bolt upright in the middle of the night! You had to get pretty old and infirm to really have such thoughts creep in despite all you do to filter such negativity out. "Act like a man!" they say. A thousand cliches come to mind like "where did the time go?" Thanks for listening (er, reading.) GS

You don't know what it's like to be me....you just know what it's like to be young.

It's fun, sure, but every stage of life comes with its benefits and deficits.

For instance, you are older which means you have (hopefully) some useful knowledge and experience, but apparently age has grizzled you a little, too. What an old grouch you are!

LOL

Wait a second, your premise is false.

To stay with your metaphor, does a brain surgeon need to have brain cancer to understand it and cure it?

And if you truly remember youth, why not relive it instead of implying they're worthless.

Never can you know what it is like to be me, No more than I can know how it is to be you,.........Should all of us be lucky enough to grow old, then we shall all know what it is like to be old. Very good Brain, Reference point comes from life experience,....Sometimes one,s own eyes get in the way of seeing. The Truth.

every day, through experience, one starts to understand what it is like to be old. You don't know me, so somethings you will be able to come up with because I am a literate writer of English, but you know neither my age or where I am.

You do not know what it is like to be me unless you are Krishna. I do not know what its like to be old and I am 58 years of age.

You don't know what it's like to be me. If you're old, that means times have changed, society has changed.
