It's been a long time....April of 1992. I detoxed for 3 days. I entered and completed a 28 day program.
I have now been sober for 14 years, 11 months. April of 2007 will be 15 years of continous sobriety.
Do I feel better? Yes. Will I ever drink again? No.
Since I've been sober, I feel so much better and my life has gotten better and better. Alcohol just isn't worth it. AA taught me that my life is worth more than a drink.

Yes, honey, we all feel better when we are not drunk on our behinds. It is my belief that it takes different times for different people to detox as it depends on what you have been drinking and for how long. Normally about a week of really feeling like you may die, but you won't, I promise. I witnessed too many of us do it. You may want to and wish to, but you won't. That is the worst part and then staying clean is the hard part!! Good luck and God Bless and Be With You!!!

Yes, I have been "dry"for gone thirteen years now. It is a hard road to go down but well worth it. It takes a while to detox you never stop having desire for the hootch.

20 years this june for me. It was not hard, just expensive. It was court ordered for me to spend 30 days in a rehab or 5yrs in TDC (Texas Dept of Corrections). It cost me over $4000, but it was worth it
