to do a post grad degree in psychology and to become a psychologist must you have a degree in psychology?

Yes you need a degree in Psychology to follow any discipline in Psychology. for most disciplines I think your degree needs to follow the BPS prescribed modules. At least it did a few years ago when I did mine.

You can check with universities themselves what their requirements are for post-grad courses. I would say if you want to research a subject in psychology (i.e. doctorate) then a BSc would give you the base knowledge for this. You can at some unis (Durham i think is one) mix psychology with biology or physiology to spread the load.
