They usually put a little marriside (I know I spelled that wrong LOL) which is a broad range antibiotic, in the water to keep the fish healthy. They do this because keeping a betta in such a small container is a really lousy idea.

Betta's do not need blue water, and you shouldn't die their water blue strictly for aesthetic reasons.

It's just water conditioners. You can buy betta specific conditioners, but it's all about the same for fresh water fish. In the store, our water is blue because we get conditioning tablets sent to us in bulk, each tablet makes 5 gals of water. It's not blue for any particular reason.

It's an old fungus remedy called Methyline Blue. Maybe the fish were mishandled in some way.

Yes it is medicine!!! It is ussally rid ick or clout because bettas are kept in such horrible little tanks that they can get sick very easy!

i've never seen blue water before...could it be that you are perceiving the water to be blue when in fact the background is just blue? sorry I've never seen blue water before..

That's called betta medicine and it helps with diseases...
