I'm looking at other answers and I see Sizemore and Hafner. How are they unde - ? In fantasy baseball, they're going in the first and second rounds! There are articles everywhere touting Sizemore as the best overall player and Hafner as the best pure hitter behind Pujols.
I say, Mark Teahen, third baseman for the (gasp) Kansas City Royals. He'd be an All-Star if he were on a better team. That said, he'll probably be the All-Star representative for the Royals this year. A first-rounder in the 2002 "Moneyball" draft, he's got a solid batting eye, speed, and power. If he weren't injured last year, he would've hit .290, 20 HR, and 10-15 SB. This year, he's blistering the ball in Spring Training and will improve with another year of experience. A line of .305 AVG, 30 HR, 90 R, 100 RBI, and 15 SB is not unlikely, even in the KC lineup. I have him on all six of my fantasy teams, to boot!

Since I'm a Tiger fan, I'd say Polanco.
Polanco may not get too much runs in or home runs, but the guy is a great team player. We all know how terrible the Tigers did after Polanco injured his shoulder in Boston. The Tigers had a losing record from then till the end of the year!

John Maine or Mikey Pelfrey of the New York Mets, they are two young pitchers, 25 and 23, and in their few appearances in the MLB, look to have the skills to be around for quite some time, although they are not really on anyones radar for making a difference.

Rocco Baldelli Because nobody really pays attention to what he does so people get the impression that hes a bum but they never saw what he did last season he pretty much turned the d-rays around by himself some people dont even know who rocco is so he is very underrated

Joe Crede. I'm a White Sox fan and I don't even like the guy, but he definitely is underrated. Especially in fantasy leagues, great pickup in the late rounds.

Albert Pujols.
He still hasn't topped out on what he can do. Offensive, defensive, base-running, etc., he's always improving. And for someone as good as he is to continue improving it's something amazing. You can argue the up-and-comers as under-rated, and they are but it's more like they haven't really been rated to begin with.

If your going to talk about Tampa Bay, why don't you mention Johnny Gomes? Baldelli gets a fair ammount of attention but Gomes had more homers and RBI's than Rocco.

NL
Chris Capuano - P - Milwaukee
This guy has amazing stuff. He will win 18 games this year.
AL
Joe Crede - 3B - Chicago
Is clutch. But won't get the attention he deserves because of some guy who plays third for New York.
