I've being serching trough this site, when I type Mexican in the "search for questions" bar and which is my natinality, I found a lot of racist bullshit and dont make me get started when I type black... I feel that we are all equal and that we are all humans... To me even a dog has the same right to live in any part this world, is a living thing and has the same value...
To make my question more clear,
What makes a person to be or became racist, is it ignorance??

When it comes to Mexicans it may not be racism as much as nationalism.
When talking about racism and not prejudice were talking about people who discriminate based only on appearance.
It seems to be part of people's nature to discriminate against those who don't belong to there group. This might have to do with survival. In other words your group is taking in outsiders who may be taking over and taking your power.People want there group to be at the top and feel threatened by those who aren't like them.If the person learns about the other race they may see them as being just like them and come to accepting them. If they continue without understanding the outsiders and seeing them as such the discrimination will continue.

So in a way it is ignorance since ignorance is the lack of knowledge and understanding.
As for dogs having the same value........
I oppose animal abuse, but will never see a dog as equal.
When the survival of a human comes into play I'll pick the human always. If humans need to kill an animal to eat then so be it. Animals function mostly on instinct and don't share are same level of consciousness nor are level of emotions.Sure animals feel to some degree are emotions, but it's not close.
Even when they plan for winter there not actually planning, but again functioning on instinct.

Anyways, that's how I see it.

I agree with u . all living things shall be equal no matter the color religion or language.. though some people become racist because of there religion , take the kkk for example - lu klux klan - who killed and tortured jews and blacks and nonbeleivers
most people became racist from there parents teaching them to hate and despise certain type of people
many people have also become racist because they believe all bad things - wars fights floods ect ..- were somehow cuased by them .. as a catholic i believe we are all equal yes i do have friends that are not in part of my religion . i even have a friend that is hindu and believes in many gods but am not a judgemental person nor a racist and i ahve nothing further to conclude.
