Honestly- before I write this, there is not 10 better players than Kobe Bryant, but I will present there case.
1) Steve Nash - 2 time MVP - and averages a double double. I don't see Kobe doing that? 20 and 12. I'll take my man Steve over Kobe.
2) Lebron James - He's not quite at that level (yet). But he's almost there. He has the drive & explosveness, but he doesn't have the shot (yet).
3) Gilbert Arenas - A streaky shooter. He's not quite as streaky as Jamal Crawford, but very talented. He can light it up just as well as Kobe.
4) Kevin Garnett - I think everybody forgets about my man KG, simply because he plays for the T-Wolves. If he played for a team aka Boston, New York, New Orlean Oklahoma, and played with some very good role player (Paul Pierce, Stephon Marbury, Chris Paul), he would be that MVP candidate once again. And he'd lead his team to 50+ wins.
5) Dwayne Wade - He does what he does best. Take it to the hoop. Honestly, he's not and never will be at that level Kobe is at. Kobe could drive every time down the court, if he was permited & wanted too, and average 50.0 ppg. Seriously. He does have a finals MVP, however.
6) Amare Stoudamire - Did anybody watch the all star game. Amare Stoudamire should have geninually gotten the MVP of that game. Kobe was ball hogging all day, and then with 1 second left he acts like he's nice and gives Amare a 3. A center that doesn't shoot 3s, a 3 to end the game. Amare can pass Kobe. He was at that level two years ago and got hurt. If he can average 25 and 10 again, Amare's got my vote.
7,8,9,10: Dwight Howard (7), Paul Pierce (8), Dirk Nowitizki (9), Chris Paul (10).

you act like a 6 year old.
Duncan garnett and shaq yes above kobe. (i like pf's and C's)
evryone else is a no.
Why does everyone think that philly team was sorry. They led the league in rebounding and steals. Great defensive field goal %. they had 2 great blockers with ratliff and mutombo. raja bell, mckie, and snow were great defenders. Larry brown! possibly the greatest defensive coach of all time.
Wade and kobe have only had 5 head to heads with shaq on the heat.(i'm not gonna count wades rookie year) the record is 3-2 in favor of the heat. 1 game difference
Oh and hasnt kobe been on Nba first team 7 times
And Defensive first team 6
Shawn Marion defensive first team and hes a choke in the playoffs.
Gilbert Arenas shot around 40 shots for that 60 points
Kobe shot around 40 shots for his 81 point game
carmelo may be 2 inches taller than kobe but hes only 10 pounds heavier than kobe
Lebron James..the player who plays when he wants to play.
How do u seriously not have dirk on this list or nash.
At least u didnt put vince carter on the list i'll give u that

Heck naw KG, LeBron, maybe Wade r only close to him he is still the best player in the league. If u r starting a team Kobe would have to be at the top of the list. No one can take over a game quite like Kobe

I'm not a Kobe fan, but of your list, only Duncan, Shaq and Wade have won a championship. Kobe has, what, 3? And just because LeBron got a better shoe deal, does not make him better. Just because Gilbert Arenas scored 60 one game, does not make him a better player either. Kobe had 84! Everybody on your list may be better people, but maybe only 1 or 2 are better players. You don't have legit reasons.

first of all, Duncan and Shaq has not won 3 MVPs. I don't know why do you think that marion, anthony and stoudamire are better then Kobe. Wade, Lebron and Arenas are not there yet to be compared with Kobe. The rest of them are right.

i dont agree with melo but i do agree with the rest, since you named two suns starters, ill go ahead and name 2 more, steve nash, two time mvp and possibly 3 straight, also i think raja bell should get some love too with his huge close-line to kobe in the playoffs last year, he is also one of the better defenders in the league but is overshadowed by nash, marion, and stoudemire
i think u also forgot dirty dirk, he is amazing just watch him play, he had a bad game (i think) against the suns and the warriors but every other game this season he has an mvp performance just like steve nash

You didn't mention just current players.........so........
Any of the players on the "50 greatest players" list is better than Kobe.
In addition to your list:
Nash (better passer, playmaker, team player, and leader)
Paul Pierce (more important to his team than Kobe is to the Lakers, they can win without Kobe; celts can't win w/o Pierce.)
Nowitzki: Look at his team......Nowitzki doesn't need to take 55 shots to score 40 points.
Redd: If Redd takes 26 shots a game, he'd have more points than Kobe. and he's a much better shooter.
