I was just wondering how; it seems now that if a girl changes her mind a week after having sex, then she has been officially raped. What gives?

First thing, if a girl changes her mind AFTER having sex, it's not rape. They say they were raped for different reasons. the main reason is they don't want someone to find out they had sex. It's not rape if it was consensual at the time of the intercourse. That's the law.

Violence was never a requisite of rape. The definition of rape involves the lack of consent. But obviously if the girl changes her mind after having sex, that is not rape. The changes in rape law have involved the types of evidence that are either sufficient to prove rape, or that are allowed to prove consent. Obviously if there is violence that leaves marks, that makes rape easier to prove. If there is no violence, and no witnesses, it becomes a question of which party the jury wants to believe.
