I recently got a $45 mail-in rebate from Trendnet for their Router+USB bundle. But today, I received another rebate of $45. I got two because 1 1/2 month after I mailed the rebate, I contacted Trendnet inquiring what happened to my rebate. I send them a picture of my receipt and then they mailed my first rebate of $45 over. Just then I discovered they had received my rebate stuff and they sent me another $45. Is it legal to cash the second cheque in? Should I? What would you do?

Cash in the second check and once you find that it is cashed, then tear up the first check into little pieces. They may have placed a stop payment on the first check anyway and it is not yours. It would be considered a misdemeanor punishable by federal law to change a check that you were not entitled to.

the answer is NO IT IS NOT LEGAL. dont' do it it could come back to haunt you, TRUST ME. This is exactly the type of crime that I have been habitually busted for over the last 20 years. DON'T DO IT. it isn't worth $45 to go to jail, TRUST ME. - john (rock island, il)
