Thanks Kadel, well it is very difficult to find the same kind of job that I used to do, I indicated in my resume that I am looking for admin/financial position, but to no avail, can you elaborate a little bit about the civil service jobs??? thanks again

You are finding it difficult to find a job because of outsourcing. Many corporations find it more profitable to fire their workers in the USA and outsource these jobs to lower cost countries. You mention that you have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree but so do millions of others. What made you move from your country to the USA without a job already lined up?

You probably should be looking for civil service jobs. You can apply online for those. In addition does your resume say you are looking for a specific job or is it vague like your question? Employers throw out the resumes of people who do not have a specific job goal. An example is: To obtain a position in urban planning where I can use my education and experience.
To obtain a position as a_______(name your specialty) economist where I can_________
I don't know what state you are living in, but the states and local governments have civil service job openings that change from month to month. Try googling your state with the words civil service and you should find the website. Just go through the jobs and apply for everything you qualify for. Be sure to put lots and lots of information on a civil service application as they sometimes use the application to rank the applicants. The website for the federal government is http://www.usajobs.opm.gov/
You might want to apply on the bank websites. Places like bank of america have jobs listed on their sites. My bank of america branch has several customer service people from other countries. International banks also hire people with your background, but you must specify the position you are looking for. Use the yellow pages to find companies and be specific. Call and talk to someone in personnel.
Sending your resume to a company and saying you are looking for admin/financial is too vague. You must apply for a specific job when you submit your resume, or it will be discarded. Customer service representative, economic analyst, urban planner, something specific.

The job market is not that good in here. I am finding a job too and you have more experience then me, but still the job outlook is lousy since the economy is high. I register for numerous staffing agencies and nobody is calling me telling me they have "work". Temp work is oncall. Anyway, some are ignoring me and only one agency is the best that only finds me work. It is tough and hang in there. Something is bound to happen. Don't give up until you are hired.

http://tinyurl.com/2frh8j is a great way to make extra money. The site will ask you to complete surveys and offers and those companies will then pay you. Unilike most work at home jobs this is one is realy legit and actulaly sends real checks to you at the end of the month. I have already made over $800+ from this website and keep it mind that everything is free.I will love to answer any questions that you might have regarding this just email me via CashCrate Message Center

Hundreds of jobs and not getting accepted for one? I, my friend, find this hard to believe.
Are you sure that you were clear on old jobs and backround? Perhaps asking why you were not accepted would help for you not to make mistakes when you are trying for another job.

Have you tried job websites like Hotjobs,Monster and Careerbuilder? You could search for jobs and post your resume online on these websites. You could also search for jobs on websites like Craigslist,Simply Hired and Indeed. You can find more information at

You must have applied jobs that are not suitable with your education and experience.
You can restart as an intern or entry level position.

If you're living in Michigan you should probably move to another state. There are no jobs here.
