Usually the colours are Blue and Red.

To view 3D you need depth perception.

Which means your two eyes have to work together.
If you have problems with your binocular (two-eyed vision) or stereo (3D vision) you will almost always not be able to see 3D.

Less than five percent of the population have severe visual disabilities which make seeing in 3D difficult or impossible. This group includes those who have lost an eye or only some of those with medical diagnoses of amblyopia (lazy eye) or strabismus (eye turns -- "crossed eyes" or "wandering eyes").

I hope that helped.

Wow that's an intriguing question.

3D makes use of 2 colours to create the illusion. These colours are Red & Green
each slightly off set to one another.

Can you guess what is the most common form of colour blindness?

You got it Red & Green

If he has never had a coulour test he may not actually realise he is C.B.

You may try asking him to take the little test (see link) which is one commonly used by opticians to determin if a person has a colour deficiency of their eyesite

I am unable to see in 3-D and I find it very annoying.

The trouble is I have what is called monocular vision, I can only focus from one at a time. If your boyfriend tries to look at something with one eye covered, and then you move the cover, you will find he has to refocus with the other eye.

I haven't explained this very well, but I think if you try it you will find out what I mean.

I have no idea why I can only focus from one eye at atime, but there you are.

folks that are far sighted in one eye and near sighted in the other have trouble with depth perception--not sure how that would combine with 3-d glasses.
