My fish tank just started getting like a funny color blur a bit on the yellow side , so since we eat food coloring I was wondering if the fish could stand it if I added it to the water to change that ugly tint? I don't want to hurt my fish.

Adding a few drops of McCormick Food Coloring will make a colorful environment without harming the fish.

If you don't believe me go here: http://www.wackyuses.com/mccormick.html

If you have really sensitive fish, that die when the water temperature changes 2 degrees then i would suggest not using it, but Mccormick's is non toxic to fish and wont harm them one bit =) Talk to the vet

No you can not add food coloring to a fish tank! r u crazy?????? That will kill the fish. it is blurry because it needs to be cleaned. A fish tank needs to be cleaned at least 2 or 4 times a week. Only because of how durty it gets in the tanks.

I have no idea about putting food colouring in it but, for one, CLEAN YOUR TANK,
haha
And also, if you want, you could buy a background for the tank. They sell these at most pet shops. You could get blue or whatever colour of food colouring you were going to put in or you could even get some cool design. lol They mostly make these for if you have something behind the tank that you want to hide like cords or something, or to make your fish stand out more, but I'm sure it would make the colour of the water look a little different too.

I wouldn't put food colouring in your tank because it might harm your fish.I have never herd of anyone doing that.If your water looks bad you might need to change some of it using a gravel cleaner.

I would say no. If your tank is changing colors maybe it is time to check the water quality and maybe even do a water change??? How about fixing the problem instead of trying to cover it up or mistakenly making it worse

Don't do that. Driftwood can cause yellow water. Green is suspended algae. Why not try a water change instead?
