it is not illegal for a male doctor to look at your genitals! unless you live in Afghanistan or something! if you get a pap smear, it doesnt hurt. all he does is take a really long q-tip looking thing and lightly rub your cervix to collect cells, (have you ever done a qtip swab in your mouth, very similar). you sit on the examining table with your legs spread up in the air. its quick, but it might be a little awkward, especially for your first time. he might have you do an ultrasound tho (not to check for pregnancy) just to make sure everything has developed properly. for that you just lay down and they rub some cold gel on your belly and they rub it with the ultrasound thing. dont worry, you should be fine.

if your uncomfortable with a guy doctor doing a pap smear, you can ask for a girl nurse, but i repeat it is not illegal for a male doctor to look at you.

Usually Drs. do not give internal exams until you are sexually active. Yes, a female doc is a good idea, unless you are used to the one you have and feel comfortable with him. Then don't change. For an internal exam your doc will have a nurse present in the room while he is performing the exam. Required by law. These exams don't hurt though they are a bit uncomfortable and you will feel some pressure at the vaginal opening. Have you ever had your period? Everyone starts at a different age. Some early and some later. They use a cotton swab kind of like a Q-tip. Just get a little for a smear and thats it. You won't really feel it. I doubt very much that this will happen. How old are you anyway. Don't they teach sex education in school anymore. Think we had this stuff in the 7th grade.

Okay, to be honest it's up to your doctor whether he does or not. But it doesn't sound like he would do, unless he said he would, of course. A papsmear doesn't just have to happen after you've started your period too.

Basically, to take the sample, your doctor will put a special instrument called a speculum into your vagina. This helps open your vagina so the sample can be taken. Your doctor will gently clean your cervix with a cotton swab and then collect a sample of cells with a small brush, a tiny spatula or a cotton swab.

To be honest with you, when my Mum goes she says it can be slightly painful, the 'stick' has to go all the way up your cervix. Someone has to be honest so you can prepare for it. However, as mad as it seems, if you relax, it will hurt less because your cervix will be less tense. Slight bleeding, cramps, and other discomfort can occur afterwards I think.

No, it's not a very nice thing but it's for the benefit of your health in the future and all women have to have it in their lives.

Good luck!

If you are having sex, you should be having yearly pap smears.

it is a little uncomfortable, but not bad. it, obviously, will be embarassing to have him looking at your vagina, but he does it every day, it's no big deal to him.

you will put your feet in stirups that spread your legs. he will use gloves and put a little lubricant on his fingers so it doesn't hurt as much. He will put a speculum, like a set of tongs that will, inside you to make it easier to see inside you. It will be a little uncomfortable - but if you've had sex, it won't hurt. he will use a long q-tip to swab the edge of your cervix, which can feel not so great but its super quick, and not that bad. he should also use his fingers to feel inside you and also push down on your tummy to feel for any lumps or weird things. after a few times, it is still weird and a little invasive seeming, but you get used to it - and to stay healthy - you have to do it!

honestly, i would not let a general doctor give me a pap smear. i would only go to an ob for that. but if you do get one, they do not hurt at all. you jump onto the table and they use a lot of ky lube. he/she will use this instrument to open your vagina up. it does not hurt, trust me. then he.she will swab the inside of you for a second and that is it. the whole thing takes about 5 minutes at the most. but it does not hurt. you may feel a small amount of pressure when they open your vagina, but probably not. i promise, it does not hurt.

possibilities are high the female found out that she could have had a extra appropriate time with you. dating her would not be this variety of stable theory. who's to declare that she would not harm you back if somebody who caught her eye wandered by employing? you would be able to desire to permit her pass and pass away her be. have faith me, ladies have no know for the autumn back guy, and that's what you would be to her. If she thinks she will run to you each and every and every time some guy dumps her, she'll save on breaking your heart. permit her be and locate somebody who would be real to you and in spite of variety of a dating you build.

on a papsmear he'll take some kind of tweezers and grab a bit of the tissue of your cervix, it doesn't hurt, but it's a little uncomfortable, if you haven't had sex before he probably won't do one, and it is NOT ILLEGAL FOR A MALE DOCTOR TO LOOK AT YOUR GENITALS THEY WOULDN'T GRADUATE THEM IF THIS WAS TRUE!!!! but yes, try to get a female gynecologist... it might hepl you feel calmer...

Get a female doctor to do it because it's actually illegal for the a male doctor to look at your genitals, and you might feel more comfortable with a woman anyway because she understands properly.
