Abraham Lincoln wrote "four score and seven years ago" (a score being 20, so it is 87 years ago) "our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, concieved in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal..."
As the beginning of the Gettysberg Address. (he is basically saying '87 years ago this counrty was founded by people who wanted liberty and equality for all') He gave this speech after the battle of Gettysberg during the Civil War.
There's more to it, but I won't write it!

Oddly worded question.

Abe Lincoln wrote it in his Gettysburg Address, as was already said here. It is definitely 87 years (4 times 20, plus 7).

It refers to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which was written in 1776... 87 years before 1863, when the Gettysburg Address was written.

a "Score" equals twenty... so "four score and seven" would mean 87... Which was how many years had passed between the the war of 1776 and the speech that Abraham Lincoln gave at Gettysburg.
