It can be but that depends on where you live/work and your ability to make good, long-lasting business relationships.
There's this guy who comes by our office every week and offers car washes to all the ladies for $25 a piece. He gets good business because the girls know him and trust him.

I think it can be if it's done right.
where we used to live, we had 2 guys, great guys, come by the office complex 2 days a week.. it took them that long to get to everyone. they charged $25. for the cars inside and out, 45 to detail.. we always told them if it was BAD.. they would look and give us a price.. never out of line.. they knew we would use then again. those were the prices for the women in the complex.... more of us... lol
The men.. were 10 more.. whenever they asked why their's was more.. ave always told them.. Lady's day special.
But when we moved.. I had to drive 6 miles out of my way.. same service, same basic pricing.. but after working all day.. you just want to go home..
the guys that came to the office complex.. they did at least 30 cars a day min.. and they worked 5 days a week. Everyone I knew paid 70 for a pe-winter hand wax, and then a monthly wash through the winter to get rid of the road salt.
So if you do it right.. an in house crew and a field crew... yes, I think you could make really good money. oh.. I know during the summer he had partime help from the local high schools, the girls loved it.. something to do while getting a tan... lol

There are so many positives about this. Let's take a look:
1) Not a big cash investment to get started
2) You can do it part time-after work, evenings, weekends
3) High demand--good detail work is hard to come by
4) Excellent chance for growth--word of mouth is the best advertising, and as your reputation grows, so will your client base
5) No need to hire any employees, until you have so much business that you need them!
And, it is important to consider the negatives:
1) It is a labor intensive job--are you ready to pay the "sweat equity" necessary to be a success?
2) A string of bad weather can hurt your income--nobody wants their car washed/detailed when it is raining or worse!
3) Time it takes to do a good job--can you complete enough cars to earn enough money to make it worth your while?
Think about these things, weighing the positives vs. the negatives, along with anything else that comes to mind. To me, it looks like a very good oportunity, well worth trying.
