I misread. I thought it said 11th president, but you mean first? Where have you been? I thought that everyone knew that by the third grade.
I was looking in my almanac last night and got the top ten. I had a test on the last day of 11th grade, in '86, on the 40 presidents. How old are you, anyway-----15? Here are the first eleven presidents.
1. Washington.
2. John Adams
3. Thomas Jefferson
4 Madison
5. Monroe
6. John Quincy Adams
7. Jackson
8. Van Burean
9. Williams Harrison (Benjaman the grandson was #23)
10. Tyler
11. Polk

...1th president OR 1st president. Assuming your question only had a typo. . . and assuming you're referring that you were asking of the 1st American president. . . That was George Washington.

If your question is not more specific...an person can only assume what you meant...so there is my answer.

First? George Washington, unless you are counting Samuel Huntington, the first President of Congress under the Articles of Confederation (he really doesn't count though--he wasn't the Chief Executive).

LOL. The first president was George Washington, and then six year ago they deleted all the Presidents so now -- ugh -- George Washington Bush will be the first President. That's what the Senate wants. lol

If you meant the 1st then George Washington, of course. If you meant to write 11th, James K. Polk.

Hon, don't you mean 1st? The first was George Washington, but are you talking about the first Congressional? What grade are you in anyway?
