People that are probable not familiar with the word currency probable call it the eurodollar so others can know they are talking about currency...also maybe because it is similiar to the dollar.

I am in the US. Not guilty. I never heard the term "Eurodollar." I always used the term "Euro."

Habit. Its Euro sounds more like national affiliation not a monetary name like pound or yen. Its the dollar of the European communitiy to us.
I only say Euro but Euro dollar can't be all that offensive...or is it?

i was there in Dec. and i never heard any one say Eurodollars.

because is American currency- so it's easy to say the blah dollar. What kind of dollars do they use in...blah blah. It's a way of speaking. Don't take it so seriously.
