I am not sure where you get that from. All statistical investigations into the religious makeup of the American population shows a population that is overwhelmingly associated with some Christian denomination, at least in some nominal sense. Atheists make up a minority.

Any modern country that seriously entertains the inclusion of such bunk as Creationism in our science curriculum, and any such country where men like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson could have millions of blind adherents, could not be considered an atheistic or secularist country.

Its odd that so many right wing Christians constantly portray themselves as the victimized minority, when in fact they, and people similar to them, have majority of control over every venue of power. It’s a similar tactic used by demagogues to propel themselves into power.

Check out the stats of U.S population and religious affiliation:

as of 2001:

79.8% - Christian
1.4% - Jewish
1.3% - Non Denominational
.6% - Muslim
.4% - Hindu
.3% - Unitarian
15% Atheist or Agnostic
.7% - Other

So we're looking at an over 80% religious population here - that's pretty high.

just because George W Bush was raised to be a corrupt man,, with a bunch of repressed followers,,, the right wing,, born-again,, brainwashed by their ministers,, or preachers like Pastor Ted the biggest hypocrite in the USA,, who was giving spiritual council to Mr. Bush every day, twice on Sundays and Wednesdays,, with 30 million evangelist followers in America,,, doesn't mean the majority of Americans are not honest, hardworking folks who believe in God,,, this bunch of idiots in the peoples White House are not representing most of the taxpayers in the USA,,, many were duped,,, for not paying attention to what's really going on in politics,,, which is just another word for religion,,,,,,,

What does USA,santanism, and athesism have to do with anything? Open your mind at least to accept the fact that people have a right to their own beliefs. It's a free country.
