I just saw an episode of this show that didn't make sense. It was the one where they are moving the blind school to Walnut Grove. The trip was very long and many many miles but, instead of putting the blind children IN the wagons to move them, they instead tied ropes to the back and made them walk the whole way!! Was this just for the drama effect of the episode or, does anyone know a logical reason for making blind kids walk so far??

Probably to much weight on the wagons. I do remember that. We found out how Adam went blind. In a swimming accident. So He was terrified of the Water

You treat blind children the way you treat other children. All children walked to save the animals. Wagons were loaded down with supplies and materials.

You can't make everything easier for a person just because he or she is disabiled. I have disabilities. I have attended schools for the disabled and know blind people. You should see how well they get around. If I were blind, I would be a nervous wreck with the short walks.

I'm not being flipant, but putting them IN a wagon would have made things look tamer than they were in that time.

That way they could count their steps and know how to get back where they came from.
