As much as I'd love it to happen, no. Experience does count for a lot in the playoffs, even Gretzky wrote about it in his autobiography. All great teams have taken steps to being cup winners. The 70's-80's Islanders, the 70's Canadians, the 90's Red Wings, even the great Oiler team needed to make the playoffs and learn while losing to the Islanders before they made the final step to winning the cup.

Playing under pressure is also a huge factor here. The Pens have had NO pressure at all on them so far. They were projected to not even make the playoffs so everything they've accomplished has been with no expectations. That won't be the case come playoff time.

I think 2 more years and Pittsburgh can start planning a parade.

Why freaking not.

I hate all the people that say you need experience to win it all. We have some experience, but ANYTHING can happen once you get in. Experience does help but it is not the single factor that wins championships! That's a proven fact.

Plus, they picked up Roberts (beast) & Laraque who will help.

Plus, it's Sid's first year in the playoffs - Let's see what magic he can do!

Why not? They have the same chance of winning as anyone else in the playoffs...and they have Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Marc-Andre Fleury!!!

Let's Go Pens!!!

the answer is no, not this year, they dont have enough playoff exp. maybe in upcoming years but no this year ..................
......they wont becuase they dont know what to excpect, playoff hockey is much faster paced and harder hitting, malkin and sid are good but they havnt exp, anything like the nhl playoffs yet, sid cant do anything much any way his inexp. is shown during the reg season overtime games when he tries t make to many moves and gives the puck up and then on the fast break they loose it
