I'm 26 weeks pregnant and i have had no changes in my breasts. This is my 2nd pregnancy. With my 1st i didnt produce breast milk. my ob said it was because i was so young and was underdeveloped. i'm 20 years old now and im concerned because i want to breastfeed this baby. Does this mean that i'm still not nor will i produce milk? have any of you have this situation and went on to breastfeed?

My breasts didn't increase in size at all the whole time I was pregnant. Though I did get a drop or two of colustrum in the last month.

I hope you are seeing a better doctor know because frankly unless you have no mammary glands (which is caused by a few rare conditions) you can make some milk. Some infants are even born lactating (even male infants, we all have mammary glads). This is caused by exposure to mom's hormones before birth.

PLEASE join your local La Leche League meeting to get some support from other moms, or some other group of breastfeeding moms. That will help you more than anything else.

U are still to early to notice breastmilk right now,.,u will start getting *colostrum* by your 8th month, which is just the clear stuff...u wont get the true breastmilk for a few days after baby is born, but u will get something after delivery...the more u try to breastfeed the more milk u will produce..so even if u notice none throughout the rest of this pregnancy, once your baby comes breastfeed him or her and u will notice it more and more...u have to feed to produce, the sucking reflexes from your baby will stimulate your breasts and will produce milk......Good luck!!

Some women get pre-milk or colostrum during pregnancy (got some at 18 weeks last go round) and some women don't get anything till after birth. Some women's breast size increases during pregnancy, some don't notice much change. Things can change mighty quickly after baby comes. My best advice to you would be to call the hospital or health dept and ask to speak with a lactation consultant/nurse. She will have the very best information for you. Best of luck!

A lot of women dont produce any milk, or have any change in their breasts until the baby is due.

In fact, you dont produce milk until about 72 hours after birth. I didnt make any until about day 5. But now iam a milk machine!

I've never heard of such a thing, but I'm not saying it's not possible. I do know that there is a shot that you can be given after birth if your milk doesn't come in as it should to help stimulate it. You might also want to contact the Leche League in your area. They give great classes on breastfeeding and things to do to help stimulate production. Good luck!
