Most Iranians don't like their current extremist government.
Ahmadinejad and his government are pretty bad. He claims the Holocaust never happened. He claims to be an academician (he claimed to be a student when he helped take over the US embassy in 1979). But he simply denies reality. (Well, maybe that's not so unusual in an academician; maybe he is one.)
He wants to wipe Israel off the map. He promised to reveal his country's cure for AIDS (completely effective and no side effects) for February 11, but it didn't happen. And he seems to be expecting the Hidden Mahdi to appear and help him conquer the world...

Iran is not terrorist. It does allow terrorists groups more free reign than we would like, and probably supports some terrorist groups, but the government is not terrorist.
They are trying to build nuclear weapons as a means of improving their ranking among other nations. It appears to be working because more and more nations are expressing and interest in helping the economy of Iran in order to slow down and control the Uranium enrichment effort.
