I'm 29 weeks pregnant with twins. I don't remember what I brought last time for my own daughter's birth.
Here's the difference this time:
My fiance is in Iraq.
The babies aren't mine; this is a surrogacy and they're not coming home with me. The parents will be there.
I'll have no one to go home for me if I forget anything really. I could ask someone that might visit me, but that's probably going to be a crap shoot.
I don't have a birthing coach and I don't think I'll need one. I pretty much did it myself and with the help of the nurses the last time (boyfriend/daddy was almost never in the room). So I'm not too worried about my fiance not being in the country.
Bottom line: I need to know what to bring, but I don't need to pack all those baby things to bring them home with me. I'm not going to wear my own clothes while I'm there - that's just messy and stupid - but I'd still bring my own slippers, toothbrush, other toiletries. No make up... some games

I am also a surrogate so I had mad a list of the things that I will be bringing when I give birth so I hope that this might help you a bit.
Toothbrush
Tooth paste
Slippers
Magazines
Crosswords
Hand held games
Hair products ( brush, comb, gel, and hair piece )
Loose fitting Clothes ( shirt, pants, socks, shoes, bra, and undergarment)
Little bit of Cash ( just in case)
Camera
Deodorant
These are just a few of the things that I would bring. I am also working on a scrapbook for the intended parents, I would give the intended parents the scrapbook after I added the pictures of there first time they meet the little bundles of joy. I don’t know if you have done anything like that but that is also an ideal. Hope this help you.

I just wanna start off by saying what u are doing is a very brave and beautiful thing..carrying babies that arent yours for someone who cant is a wonderful thing...=)
Since the babies are not going home with you,you dont need much...I would say bring some toothpaste and toothbrush.
Panties
Crossword puzzles or wordsearch *thats if u dont like tv too much*
Deodorant
comfy socks
hairbrush
Clothes to change into when your going home
And maybe some yummy snacks since hospitals dont really give u the good stuff! =)
Good Luck!!!

All you need is the following:
toothbrush
hairbrush
outfit to go home in (shirt, bottoms, underwear, bra, socks, shoes)
cash - to send someone for that sweet treat you'll be craving
insurance cards (unless the parents are covering you)
some magazines suggest a book or magazine. you might even want to bring some movies - they have the dvd/vcr players in the rooms now.
Best of luck.

a good pillow because hospital pillows suck, maybe a fleece blanket for yourself, some snacks, some music and some sanitary napkins the brand you prefer the hospital brand is so big a bulky I didn't like them at all, maybe a writting tablet to doodle on or write in.. I think this is really great what you are doing, My best freind wasn't going to be able to carry her own children either and I was prepared to do it for her and by the grace of God 6 yrs. ago she had a succesfull pregnancy and she is 10wks. pregnant with her second we are praying for her right now that all goes well....

Along with all your things such as slippers and socks and such, bring a camera. I don't know who you are carrying the babies for, but you carried them and they were yours for 9 months and you might want a nurse to take pictures during delivery or after they are born.

It sounds like you have it covered. Just bring something comfy to wear home from the hospital. Get your self a new big sweat suit. (I got mine too small and felt like the state puff marshmellow girl).

Bring clothes to wear when you leave, and just think about what you may want to have with you when you leave. I'd probably also bring nursing pads in case your milk leaks.
