The most important factor in choosing makeup colors is determining your skin tone. Here's how to determine your skin tone.
Warm skin tone:
1. Look at inner wrist - veins will appear green.
2. Gold jewelry is more flattering than silver jewelry.
Cool skin tone:
1. Look at inner wrist - veins will appear blue.
2. Silver jewelry is more flattering.
Look at your wardrobe and hold up a few items in different colors against your face. Which ones appear more flattering to you in a mirror with natural sunlight? Which colors are you drawn to?
If you are not sure, ask one or two trusted friends or family members who's style you admire.

As for color palettes:
1. Earth colors are considered to be more neutral and natural
e.g. taupe or brown eyeshadow, soft blush (Nars Orgasm), lip colors that are like your own but with a little oomph (Revlon Lip Super Lustrous Gloss - Cherries in the Glow)
2. Jewel colors are considered to be more dramatic
e.g. blue or purple or green or shimmery eye shadows, black eyeliner, bold blush, deep burgundy or bright pink lip colors
You can choose from either palette as long as the tones are flattering and the intensity isn't too pale for you.

Hey I'm pakistani aswell. coming from up north. I have a lighter skin tone aswell. Anyway, since you have brown eyes, I'd say go for any eye-shadow just be sure you don't end up looking like a drag-queen. Make sure you start with the lightest right below the brow. The other two shades depend on your eye-type. The medium-dark one goes right on the crease of the eye, and the darkest goes right over the lid or sometimes vice-versa. I mix alot of different shades, but I always make sure my lightest shade is a glittery off-white/beige [skin tone]. Then on the crease I apply a slightly darker shade than the one I'll be applying on the lid. Or sometimes i apply the lighter one. lol. Buy one of those Maybelline eye-shadow pallettes which you'll find at drug stores etc. They have the perfect combo and they're pretty good too.
& applying the eye shade isn't hard at all. Start close to the lashes. Make sure you don't put on too much [you don't want to look gothy trust me]. If you want to make the upper line a bit darker, then re-do it. I don't remember exactly how I started with it, but after a lot of praticing I've gotten pretty good at it. Anyway, good luck! :)

purple shades of eyeshadow really bring out brown eyes. choose a dark brown eyeliner, and dont concern yourself with the top-of-the-eyelid eye liner, its tricky and often hides your eye lashes, and makes your eye appear more closed, which isnt good because we want to make your eyes "pop" and really stand out because they are perhaps the most important part of the face. choose a dark brown mascara as well, and if your not too scared, use an eye lash curler (makes your eyelashes look carzy-good). as for lipliner, go only a couple shades darker than your lip color ****aviod too-dark lip liner at all costs**** the point of make up is to cover certain things, and bring certin things out but keep your face as natrual looking as possible. it doesnt take much to look good. remember the "natrual" look is timeless! if i had to make you a list of things to buy it would be
1)power compact
2)liquid foundation
3)purple eyeshadows (light purple and dark purple to be used in unison on your eyelid, just overlap one over the other)
4) dark brown eye liner
5)dark brown mascara
6)lip liner
7) clear lipgloss
p.s. try to find a liquid foundation or moisteriser with spf in it to protect your skin from the sun. thats the most important thing in a beauty regimine, spf is what is going to keep you looking young for years to come.

It might cost some money, but go to the MAC counter, make and appointment and someone should be able to help you see what work well with your skin tone. Eye shadows are pretty easy, but learning how to apply them is key.
