The gender is very hard to tell. The males are generally smaller.

The male is slender, and the blue line is straighter. The female is rounder, producing a bent blue line. Some say that the females look plumper when viewed from above but this is disputed. However, the 'straightness' of the line and the plumpness of the female might occasionally be due to the eggs she is carrying.

the blue line is straighter in the male and the blue line in the female is usually bent. and the female is usually a little fatter than the female. the male is a bit longer too.

Females are fatter and a little bit larger than males when they are grown and in good condition. That really the only way to tell.

newly hatched, it's hard/impossible to tell... fully mature, females are bigger, and their bellies are a little bigger - I've noticed that the males have a more pronounced curve near their pelvic fins, too

whichever one they don't do it with.if its a guy hell do it with a female vice versa.EASY!!
