Try the military. However crazy that may sound, they take high school graduates (even a GED in the Army) with little or no experience, train you in a job that you're best suited for (i.e. give you experience), give you a place to sleep, food to eat, and you can even earn your college degree while serving. After 20 years, you are eligible to retire with half your pay and still receive benefits (after 33 years you retire with full pay!). As long as you have a clean criminal record and keep your nose clean while you're in, you should enjoy a rich and fulfilling career. If you wait and join when you turn 19, you can retire with 50% pay at 39! Retire at 52 with 100% pay! You still have an opportunity to live a full and complete life. I know several people who've done this and loved every minute they've served and retired very well off.
I'll apologize if this sounds like propoganda, but it is the truth. There is a down side, long term deployment to remote places in the world (e.g. Iraq, Afganistan), harsh living conditions, and people who would have no problem killing you. The military isn't for everyone, so if you don't have the stomach, don't even think about it. Also, military life can be very hard for someone with a family.
If you like the water, Coast Guard; technology - Air Force or Navy (although all the branches of service are high tech now); combat operations - Army, and (saving the best for last) the Marines who are the badest boys on the planet. No, I'm not a Marine nor have I ever been one, I just give respect where it's due.
Did I fail to mention that you can get half your college tuition paid for also...

Hotels are a great way to get a glimpse at the corporate world. Only problem is pesky guests! But you get stuff like that no matter what job you work at! You can do customer service at a call center, video stores are a lot of fun and you usually can rent movies for free! Clothing stores are ALWAYS looking for people. Drug stores also hire a lot of teens that are either in school or just finishing. Those are just a few of the places that it's easy as a teenager to get a job b/c they see you as having a flexible schedule b/c you probably don't have any kids that you'd have to worry about childcare. Legal offices are also a good spot to work too. They'll send you out to run different documents to other law firms and the courthouses, plus they may have you file stuff for them.

well do you have a degree or a GED? If no, consider calling a local high school or community college about getting a GED. In my state the community college offers free GED classes.
Without more experience or a degree, you will find yourself staring down the barrel of dead end jobs like the one at McDonald's. There's no shame in working there now, but ask yourself if you want to be working there 10 years from now or 20 years from now. You probably don't, so get yourself a plan and get yourself in a training program that will lead to a better life. Even if you hate school, you could do a trade or technical career path and learn a skill in culinary arts or auto mechanics or apprentice with a plumber or carpenter...all of those jobs would pay you much more in the long run than Mickie-D's.

Well, you can always go to a store like a plant store or home depoh,or you can wait until the summer, get a CPR license, and then go to a public pool if your living in grand rapids and get like 12.50 an hour for 8 hours a day.
Another thing that you can do is get a driver's license, and go work at a golf course as a caddy,or you can go in the cart, and go collect all of the golf balls on the training field, or you can go to work at the desk, and get paid and get a discount.
another thing that you can do is work a a volenteer, and woork at an after school prograhm, or at the summer prograhm at the park.I think that that would be fun.
There's lots of things that you can do, as long as you look around.
Hope you the best of luck
have fun!!!!!!

Try Craigslist - they are really good. There are a lot of administrative "entry-level" positions for people.
I have had a lot of success on there.
