Fill the tank with clean gas and drain the carb bowls until the good stuff starts coming out. Do an oil change after you've run it a few miles. Watch the carbs carefully for a while. They tend to overflow because of the buildup after sitting that long. You might need two cans of gumout and a sixpack for a couple hours of carb cleaning.

give it a good tune up. change all fluids. plugs. then if it runs a little rough like it is not getting enough fuel you will have to rebuild the carbs. because with time gas turns into a sludge and it can gum up carbs. also take off the fuel petcock at the tank and make sure there is no sludge or dirt. if there is sludge then you have to take the tank of the bike and wash it out with hot soapy water.
do all this and you should be ready to roll.

The gas will be bad, and check the tires for dry rot as well as air pressure. Also, the oil probably has gone bad. Change that too.

like the above said , plus i would pull the plugs and squirt a wee bit of A.T.F. in the hole and kick it over a few times to get everything lubed , then replace the plugs , expect it to smoke a lot at first .

go over EVERYTHING, from fluids, to sprocket wear, to wheel spokes, i mean everything. check everything, everyone has said. if you like to ride make sure you do not just start it and go. this could seriously damage it. spend an hour or two now to save 10hrs and possibly thousands of dollars in repair.
