This is true. There are only a special certain few that do carry guns in the UK. Check out the cops around Buckingham Palace - they have guns.

Yes. Traditionally they carry only a truncheon. It must be remembered that in the UK ordinary citizens are not entitled to carry guns. Unfortunately there has been a rise in the number of crimes in which unauthorised guns have been used by criminals and this too has contributed to the need for more armed police.

Yes. The regular cops do not carry guns. They do have special forces that carry guns. Like SWAT in US.
