Start with an old fabric dress to serve as a lining. Getting the adhesive removed from your skin will be no fun at all. Do NOT make the garment using ONLY duct tape.
The result will not breathe, so try to let it hang from your shoulders without any belts or other gathering effect. Much like a column dress. You WILL sweat.
Take another outfit to change into when the tape dress gets too hot to wear. If you dance at all, too much heat will develop.

Its been done before (at my highschool...electrical tape and colored duct tape was used as well). Go with bubble wrap. Its fun and will match any pair of shoes...well...better than duct tape will.

um no!
you'll look like a goth and no one will want to hang out with you u
plus you may not get it finished in time
and who wants to work with duct tape anyway?
its much less effort to just but a cute dress
anyway you have way to many other things to do then to worry about MAKING your prom dress

No. They are expecting you to wear duct tape. Surprise the heck out of them and wear saran wrap. That'll throw them for a loop. LOL

YES! That would be soooo cool. Buy some tule for the bottom for a little fluff. Oh and make sure to cover all your hairy parts and sensitive parts with something non-stick!
I wish I could see.
