Slavery has a bad name, but I want the carefree existence and full care given to those who offer their all for total care.
How does one become a slave in this day and age?

Tough. In most places slavery is illegal. You might be able to form a similar relationship with someone though it would not be slavery from a legal point of view. You would find someone who chooses to treat you as a slave. You would retain all rights and be able to come and go as you wish. BUT, you would choose to stay. I suggest that you discuss the matter with a lawyer. In the United States, you have the freedom to choose many things. A lawyer could help you decide which freedoms you truly wish to give up. You might then put an ad in the paper or on the Internet.
You could try a variation of marriage. Marriage is not a form of slavery, but a person could live in a relationship very similar to marriage without the marital rights. You would basically be a room-mate with no rights.
Good luck sorting things out. Be prepared for the risk of getting an "owner" who is not as good as you thought in the beginning.

If you think slavery was a carefree existence, you don't know enough about slavery. Go to the library or online and read all you can find on the subject. It was really quite repulsive. If thousands of slaves fought and died for their freedom what makes you think it was such a happy and carefree life? Do you call carefree existence,plowing fields with a mule, being denied an education,enduring winters without shoes and clothing, eating intestines because that was all there was for you to eat? Well I'm glad somebody had enough care to free me from that.

Why give up your freedom?Homeless people eating from dumpsters and living in boxes are better off than slaves,and nobody owns them.

Get married
Have kids
run up credit card debt.
Then you will be a slave.
