You are More than a Sun Sign
The relative positions of all the bodies in our Solar System to each other and their positions within the 12 Zodiac Signs, flavour your basic character that is initially set by the Ruling Planet.
An Astrologer draws your individual Birth Chart, by placing at the exact position in the Zodiac, at the time of your birth - the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune & Pluto. Some Astrologers will also take into account a variety of Asteroids.

I can not overemphasize how this combination of influences, positions and inter-relationships, shift what a professional Astrologer considers not only for your Character at time of birth but how the chart of past, present & future moments influence your behaviour and reactions to circumstance, what the public think is predicting the future. This is in fact more like forecasting the weather but does have the advantage of totally predictable planetry positions.

Your 'Stars' or Sun Sign column as popular in magazines and web sites, use ONLY the Suns basic position in the Zodiac, it can be uncannily close at times but is only the first of many considerations when it comes to understanding you, your motives, how you react in different situations and of great importance to you - how the predictable positions of planets will influence your future. The interpretation of that comes down to the technical skills and intuitive abilities of the Astrologer.

No.. I don't take it these horoscopes seriously - most of them are inaccurate. But astrology is generally pretty accurate about predicting and analyzing general personality traits of people. They are mostly just generalities and potentialities. Horoscopes are not too accurate, since they are mostly for entertainment, and they are broad generalizations, and not for specific individuals. To get accurate individual horoscopes, it would require more information to calculate.

But then, if you believe in something strongly enough, there is a phenomena called the "self-fulfilling prophecy". So, believe in something only if it will do you good, and doesn't harm anyone.

Have you ever bothered to read every single one of the personalities of each horscope? They cover about every aspect someone might have. For example, "Leo's are caring". Basically, the horscopes use alot of "generlization words" that could be true for everone, and since it is under your sign, you presume its fits your personality, even though it really isn't or sounds like someone who isn't a leo.

Nope - I don't even bother reading them. It's all hogwash.

It's ludicrous to think that a planet's pull on you when you were born will influence your personality and behavior. Your neighbor's car exerts more pull on you than the planets do. But have you ever heard someone brag that their next door neighbor's Buick makes them a born leader?

I believe that the sign you were born under does influence your personality, but daily horoscopes are a crock.

no you shouldnt. If their bad dont take them seriously, the astrologers probably couldnt think of anything to say. If their good take them...especially when you need cheering up :)
