Personally, I think it's bullshit, but that's ok....screw him.

However, I saw in a study that 65,000 gays and lesbians would join the military if they were allowed to serve as themselves.... so it's a bad policy decision.

Many gays and lesbians that are kicked out are also involved with jobs the military needs such as arabic specialists etc. Once again, a bad policy decision....

A month from now i am hoping to be in the Marine Corps. i don't know any gay human beings, except for my calculus instructor and another individual. i'm a Christian so i respect each body. My minister and deacons say that's inaccurate. My fiance says that's inaccurate. yet a neighbor of mine says that there are already gay human beings in the Marine Corps. prevalent %. suggested it replaced into like adultery. that's what my minister suggested. I not in any respect see some thing about this on the defense force Channel at homestead. Did prevalent %. write any books?

As a citizen he has the right to believe what he wishes, but, given his position and policy forbidding Military personnel to comment directly on government policy, he was out of line. Like it or not, in his position he has to answer for any and all missteps and he cannot even have the appearance of impropriety, which in this case, he clearly did. He is the Chief of the Defence Staff, he represents ALL soldiers who are currently serving, that includes gays and lesbians. His remarks are akin to walking up to a soldier and spitting on him/her. Would most Americans tolerate that, I doubt it, so why tolerate this. Believe what you will about gays, but they are citizens, they pay taxes, they serve, fight and are dying in the war right now. Why the disrespect? Why the bigotry, and lets not mince words, that's what it is, bigotry. Should he be fired? I don't think so but he should be dressed down for his insensitive and hurtful remarks against loyal and courageous gay and lesbian servicemen.

Obviously its freedom of speech, but it is also way out of line. People should only speak about things they know, and keep the ignorance to themselves. Talk is cheap and thats how I saw it.

What do you expect, Pace works for Bush. And you can not work for Bush unless you sign a loyalty oath in blood, double-cross you mother twice and bury a neighbor's dog alive with only its tail sticking out and blowing in the wind.

Yeah there is freedom of speech, however when in a public position of power, it is unwise to cross taboo lines, He may have been excersizing his right, but I'll think he'll pay for it.

Completely out of line.
His comment disenfranchises an entire segment of society and adds a complete lack of credibility to the Military.

This country was built on the defense of the moral principals of people in positions of power in relation to the Word of God.

More power to General Pace.
And no apology is needed.

Principals denied expression are principals lost. Lost principals equal a lost and indefensible nation.

He used his position as a public official to present his OPINION. It's called an abuse of power and privilege. The fool was speaking for himself, but hoped to convey that he also spoke for the entire military and the American people.

He has the right to say it, but what an unbelievably ignorant statement. I wish just one person had asked him to define morality.
