Col. is short for Colonia.
Hey what's wrong with you? Americans are famous for abbreviations even though they can cause serious problems, especially in hospitals.

Colonia--many cities are divided into colonias, or neighborhoods. The most famous is the Colonia Juárez, which is the Zona Rosa in Mexico City.
If your colonia is named after a saint, you can be sure that there will be a big party there on the saint's feast day!!

Col. -colonia- (cole-oh-nee-a {as in apple})Does mean neighborhood. If you see a C. preceeding an address that means "calle" (street).
