When did the US have a communist government?

2007-03-16 08:50:04 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 3 0

There have been minor elements of socialism implemented in America, though never at the expense of capitalist profit, but never anything remotely like Communism.

Communism only works in small collectives. It can't be effectively implemented on an entire nation.

We could do with a little more socialism for the less fortunate, though. Like, oh...I don't know, having the government pick up the tab for a broken leg instead of charging a single mother with no health insurance $6000?

It will have to be.. much to the shock of the ultra rich.. who incidently are already taking their money out of America.. like Halliburton for example..

Oh.. and i hate to say it, but prepare for a mother of all depressions for the next few years, once Bush is voted out, this could happen and as sad as it is.. swallowing the bitter pill it is essential to right the wrongs created under Bush.. like loss of health care and social welfare facilitys in USA, loss of meaningful jobs for the average citizen and yet the astronomical hike in cost of surviving.. NOT living!! I said SURVIVING!! The average citizen in USA is barely surviving under crippling mortgage debt. AND YOU WANT MORE???

I'm seeing that capitalist theories DO WORK after all.. the natural markets do "correct" imbalances, the sad part is that its that same system that creates the problem in the first place.. so it needs to go!

I forsee a semi-controlled global system where there is limited capitalism and a lot more global co-operation on things like space exploration, for which USA is still deeply significant to all civilisation.

Lets focus on the good shall we... but lets not ignore the bad any more. Communism is not evil, it is about sharing and fairness. Without corruption communism actually works.

When did the United States ever have Communism. Did I miss something? As a history fanatic I don't recall any reliable source that asserts that.

(Mumbling to self) Where do people get these lame brained ideas?

Folks, I think he means revived. As far as I am aware, it was never dead, or banned. Anyone who wishes to run for office under the Communist party is free to do so, as long as they can collect the needed signatures to get on the ballot. No party or idea should be banned outright, no matter how foolish it seems to most. BTW, you would not get my signature.

Well, the way things have been going these past 6 years the US is pretty close to becoming a Fascist Police State. Let's just hope the next Administration has the balls to reverse this course.

we have enough trouble as it is . If you think it would be a solution to our problems take a trip to Cuba and look at the shacks they live in . You wouldn/t put your lawnmower in there. It's a safe place to go allright because everybody's in jail
