The Postal Service (side project of Death Cab lead singer), Iron and Wine (probably my favorite band), The Decemberists (awesome, their newest album would be a good place to start), Calexico (feast of wire is their best album)... This is the main type of music I listen to, and the Death Cab fans I know agree. There's a link between all of them- Postal Service, as I said, is a side project for the Death Cab guy. Their most popular song is "Such Great Heights", which is a cover of an Iron and Wine song- and Iron and Wine coupled up with Calexico for a whole album. No link to the Decemberists, though. I just really love them. I almost forgot Bright Eyes. Bright Eyes is another good indie choice.

Next time you like an artist, try going to amazon.com and searching an album of theirs. Amazon will list other albums people who liked that bought. For Death Cab they list Arcade Fire, New Pornographers, The Postal Service, Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, and Sufjan Stevens.

i respect this music, too. The video I bear in options is the guy sitting in his room and a black hollow seems in the floor which keeps getting higher and larger until eventually he's swallowed up and then the hollow disappears.
