It's a very good time to come visit WDW!
There are crowds but they are LIGHT compared to school break time frames.

It is nice after Labor day, the later in the month the better. Before and during Labor Day it is a little insane because everyone from up North is trying to get one more vacation in before the kids go back to school. Southern schools are mostly back in. We have been the week right after labor day (we went the 9th-20th) and the crowds were not bad at all. The park wasn't empty, but then you really don't want it to be because those slow times tend to be when rides are clsed for rehab. The next year we went the last week in August and first week in September to use annual passes before they expired and were miserable in the crowds.

The weather is starting to cool down, but it can still be hot. And there is still the occasional rain, but it is less than July. One concern is also that this is hurricane season and while Disney is far enough inland that they are rarely affected, I would not want to travel with a hurricane on its way so I would look into travel insurance or at least be aware of any cancellation policies just in case.

Have fun.

A couple of years ago we went to Disney in September, a week after Labor Day. We loved it. The most we waited for an attraction was 15 minutes, and that was to see Aeriel. . It is not as hot as the summer months, but it was verrrry humid. Still I would take that over the crowds anyday.

The hotel rates were very reasonable. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for 5 nights and we paid the value rate. I don't think I would go back to Disney unless it was in the off season. FYI--the first week of September, Labor Day week, it is very crowded due to schools being out. The second week was good because that is when the schools go back and there is not as many kids, except small children.

Late September is an excellent time to visit, as is October. The weather cools down just a bit and the crowds thin out too because kids are back in school. Enjoy your trip!

It's definitely not a bad time. It's not very crowded and it's not burning hot. It's even one of the special months in the Wonderful Weeks Of Disney vacation times when you can get discounts on vacations. It's just starting to get crowded. December is when all the tourists come down from the north to get away from all the cold weather. Its still hot and muggy there so keep that in mind. Its an OK time to go to Disney by my opinion.

september is a pretty slow month for Disney since it's back to school time. park attendance will pick up again around mid-october for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. then slow down again at the beginning of November, and busy again around Thanksgiving through new years.

At anytime that you go, disney will have crowds. The trick it so work your way from the back inward, and fast pass the big attractions. Personally, if you want to go in september i suggest going towards the middle/end.

the starting up of may is more beneficial useful than the accurate. in the south, many (if no longer maximum) faculties get out in the route of mid to end of may and oftentimes Memorial Day weekend begins the summer season crowds to the Disney Parks. that's a superb time to visit climate sensible and crowds are not too undesirable considering that maximum young ones are in college.
