I don't know for sure, but probably because the more work they do, they are also getting more practice. If you are a professional athlete, and every time you play your sport, you get better at it. That's kind of the same thing here.

Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin?

Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?

Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery"?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?

Why is it that rain drops but snow falls?

Why isn't there mouse flavored cat food?

why why why?????????

Practice: 1392, "to do, act, or perform habitually," from O.Fr.

When discussing a word, you have to know what the word meant originally. a Practitioner of Medicine (much like a practitioner of Magic) is one who does the thing they practice.

Today's perception of the word means "to repeat something untill you do it well". but in fact Practice simply means "to do it habitually".

I have always said practice does not make perfect...but Perfect Practice makes perfect ...because if you practice something wrong...well then...it never becomes perfect.

You must do it or practice it consciously perfect, for it to be come an unconscious perfect action.

"Practice" has several meanings. To practice medicine is to perform the art of the science in a particular way. Medical practice is standardized in such a way that the ever-changing science can be applied to general health care. Your question refers to the meaning of "practice" that implies a method of learning and is a commonly mistaken in reference to medicine.
