my period is due right about now, and i had all the symptoms i usually have - a few pimples broke out, backache, etc. except today, i started bleeding but it was more brownish than red, which is unusual for me.

i know that the symptoms could also be pregnancy symptoms, but they happened in the exact time and sequence they always do when i get my period.

about a month ago i took the morning after pill and my cycle has been a bit off since then. could this strange bleeding be the effect of my off-balance cycle, or could it be implantation bleeding? i have the usual cramps and everything.

took a pregnancy test, it came out negative.

help! i'm freaking out.

What you're referring to as "brownish" is actually the beginning of your period, it's spotting. Taking the morning after pill changed your ovulation time and this could why you're spotting as well as implantation bleeding and is an early sign of pregnancy.

One reason for a false negative pregnancy test could be that you took the test too early. Pregnancy tests vary in their sensitivity which means how soon they can detect the hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in your urine. It is possible that although your ovum might be fertilized, meaning you may be pregnant, but your body has not started secreting enough Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) for the test to measure. Your body needs time for the hormone to rise to a high enough level to be detected in a test

Brown blood is normal for periods. It's the lining of the womb. You could get terrible cramps too as shedding the lining of the womb tends to be really painful.

Okay, well if you have strange bleeding it could just be regular. When girls first have periods, they sometimes have brown blood come out rather than red.So if you haven't had sex you problly can't be pregnant.
