I'm positive I remember one of my professors saying that if you do a template and you add something to a specified object (like a group of text or something), if you edit the content on one page, each page will be affected by the change that's based on that template. I would like to know how to do that?

is it linked to the style sheet for the template? That's the way CSS works

go the split view, check to see what you have linked to the object - css in your tool bar

When you have that open and are editing, you can choose this doc only or all pages
