I think my friend is obsessed with me. She has always been following me everywhere at school. Whenever I am with any of my other friends at recess she literally takes me by my wrist and walks away. I have told her to stop crowding me as much and she got all mad at me and started a rumor about me. I am really tired of her but I still like her as my friend but not when she is obsessed with me. She will not let me hang out with any of my friends and one time she actually took a metal ruler and hit my arm with it just for sitting by one of my other friends instead of her. I had a huge welt from it. I really dont no what I should do because I do not want to completely stop being friends with her. I am in the 8th grade.

i have'nt yet recieved a hit from my friends but still i have seen some like you and to say experianced. see open up yourself to her. she must bee too restricted in her house and that is the reason she possess such qualities. you need to tell her that this is not a way a friend should if she is ready to accept it that means she is really your friend otherwise i think its better to leave her. you need a friend to enjoy not to get a hit. so let her know what you want if she really likes you she would accept it.

She's insecure and jealous of your other friends. I would have gotten rid of her after she hit my arm with a ruler but that's just my point of view. She shouldn't have to resort to violence to get your attention.

Friends don't treat friends that way. If she doesn't stop, she's not your friend. Simply tell her this and next time she gets clingy and possessive, tell her to find another "friend".
