I wonder how many employers give their drivers Mobile Phones and ring them with work etc. fail to provide them with a bluetooth facility and whether they have made a complaint to the boss?

Yes folks.I know the possibilities. What I want to know is, are employers asking their drivers to answer mobile phones whilst driving company vehicles without providing hands free capability?

No responsible employer would ask such a thing, My company has recently toughened up it's mobile phone use policy, anyone caught using one while driving will be in trouble, as will anyone calling someone who is likely to be driving

Did you mean, not hand free phones? So when employer calls they are breaking UK law by answering whilst driving?
Yes they should complain. You can lose your licence and be fined vast amounts. End up unemployed. regards

I actually believe a driver needs to have ZERO listening devices against/in their ear(s), while operating a vehicle. If speaker phone is so poor in quality, then they need to work on it, to make the quality better. A listening device against/in a driver's ear(s) is a distraction, while in a very large, mobile coffin. Driving is dangerous. Treat it with respect.

I think that they should give them a bluetooth headset so that they don't have to have their hands on the phone, and they can answer it quicker and more places too.

You can get handsfree kits from www.blueunplugged.com which use radio signals to transfer the call to your radio, the phone microphone is the microphone and the radio is the speaker, it uses a spare frequency on the radio to do this.
