My aircondition stopped cooling, and when I went to my garage the whole floor was wet. The source was coming from underneath my furnace. It was leaking. Does this have anything to do with my A/C not working??

YOUR UNIT IS PROBABLY DIRTY AND YOUR CONDENSATE LINE IS PROBABLY STOPPED UP WHICH IS MAKING YOUR CONDENSATE BACK UP INTO YOUR GARAGE AND YOUR UNIT PROBABLY HAS A KILL SWITCH ON IT TO SHUT IT OFF SO IT WON'T RUIN YOUR FLOORS.CALL A REPAIR MAN IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT.
IF NOT TRY PUTTING BLEACH IN THE DRAIN AND SEE IF THAT CLEARS OUT ALL OF THE DEBRIS. GOOD LUCK.

The Air conditioning usually has two sections. The outdoor section is the condenser (What most people call the air condtioner) and the indoor section is the evaporator coil.
The evaporator coil usually sits on top of the furnace and the system uses the blower from the furnace to blow the cool air through the house. In the summer time this coil produces water by extracting humidity from the air in your house. a small drain pipe carries this water to the outside or to a floor drain.
1. Some systems come with a switch to turn off the air conditioner if this drain backs up. Check to make sure the drain is clear.
2. Air conditioners freeze up if the coil inside becomes excessively dirty, or if there is a poor amount of air flow. Check for ice around the coil inside
3. Coils can also freeze up if there is an insufficient amount of freon in the cooling system. You'll need a qualified HVAC tech at this point-
Hope this helps.

There is a device called an 'A' coil in your furnace, that's what cools the air. It also has a lot of condensation on it and it drains out to the sewer or at least to a floor drain. It sounds like yours is plugged. You may have a freon leak, and when that happens the lines will freeze up. Have a HVAC guy take as look at it.
