It sounds like your compressor has a air leak, turn it on and do a visual on hoses and fitting including the check value in the bottom of the tank.

Abnormal there seems to be a hose or fitting leak which will allow the system to depressurize and if you run it that way it will burn up your compressor too.

You have a leak somewhere, you'll have to find it. Run your hand around all the connections and check the drain petcock. (that's usually it)

no thats not normal, there is a leak someplace, look around all the fittings.
