I have been working with Cisco Routers/Switches for a long time but have never sold my services outside of the company i was employed by. I now have an opportunity to do so but i don't know what to charge.

Can anyone let me know what they're charging or being charged for remote cisco Router/PIX/Switch support?

I'm in the northeast if region is a factor.

Generally when I configure a pix in my company, we already support it so it doesn't cost the client anything, but I think a going rate of 90 dollars an hour or so. Also, you can look at which model of pix they're using (501, 506 etc) and charge a percentage of how much the router actually costs. Probably 25%. Also, consider if they have to upgrade the license.

That isn't a proffesional price range, that's just what I think makes sense. Hope it helps

If you charge less than $90 per hour in the northeast, you're selling yourself short.

I'm not sure. I've been thinking about doing the same thing. Drop me an email if you get the chance.
