I'm sick and tired of using glasses.. But I've heard that contacts can be a pain. Are they really, or do people exaggerate the truth about contacts?

I've worn them for 12 years and never had a problem.

It depends on the type you get. I have had both the traditional contacts, that you take out each night, clean, and put back in the next morning (a pair lasts about a year) and 30-day disposables. I like the 30-day lenses, you wear them continuously (even while you sleep) for a month, then throw them away and pop in a new pair. They're probably the lowest-maintenance type. But even the daily wear lenses are easy to take care of, it doesn't take any more time than brushing your teeth.

Several years ago you had to have all sorts of formulas and steps to clean them and remove protein, but the technology has developed to where you really only need one formula for everything. So yes, the claims of contacts being a pain are highly exaggerated, but any extra effort is well worth not having to wear glasses!

I use daily contacts because they are more comfortable. And then I can wear contacts one day and glasses the next. Some people have an easier time than others. You should go to your optometrist and get a trial pair. There is some trial and error to the first ones because they want to make sure they are perfect for your eyes. So you need to tell them if there is ANY discomfort. Don't assume that it is just the way contacts are supposed to feel. If properly fitted you should not feel them at all.

to answer your question, not that much!
for the first week you may have trouble getting the hang of putting them in and taking them out but after a while its a piece of cake!
also you may have to try different kinds to see which one works the best for you, i didn't but ive heard rumors

Hope this helps,
Emily!
