Did you know there are still tons of wild horses? I know a rancher in Oklahoma that often herds the wild horses to different locations on his ranch for feeding.
Also, there was a Youtube video of horses stranded on a small hill during a flood in the Netherlands. A story about the rescue of wild horses would be cool.

What about a person who "rescues" horses people don't want anymore? I read an article the other day about a couple who do that.
Or how about a custody battle over a horse? A couple who is getting divorced who both want the horse? I once read about a custody battle over a chiuhuaua (sp?) It could be really dramatic with a court battle scene and all and finally one person decides to give the horse up and the judge decides they are the one who loves the horse more and they get it. Like the judgement of Solomon?
Or how about a horse jumping contest when one contestant does something bad to try and fix the contest? Like when Tanya Harding had Nancy Kerrigan's knee whacked? Maybe it's a horse jumping contest for kids and one of the mothers is a real stage mother type who causes a lot of trouble for everyone.
Or maybe its a good old fashioned romance when a lonely city girl decides to spend her vacation on a dude ranch and falls madly in love with a cowboy only she doesnt want to move to the ranch and he hates the city??
I think its great you're going to go to do research in person. Im planning a trip to Key West Fla right now for the same reason. With a stopover in Nawlins because I want to see the destruction for the purpose of something else I want to write. Its great when you can visit the places you write about.
Just some ideas... C.

this could be a real tale, as quickly as very some time past this youthful woman only gaining awareness of roughly horses listened to others comments and hadn't formed her own and stated "on no account will I own a Bay (shade) Arabian (breed) mare!" nicely many many yrs later her husband bought her a abused horse for a ask your self and lo and behold it grow to be precisely what she continuously stated she on no account needed, yep a Bay Arabian Mare. nicely that horse grew to become out to be her only right pal, and she or he enjoyed her dearly, and she or he have been given ill sometime very ill and grow to be purely 6 yrs old (can stay 38 plus yrs) and nicely I had to make between the toughest judgements of my life to end her suffering, and that i did. Morel of the story is "do no longer choose a e book by employing the conceal". I shorten it up, perhaps you may positioned some distinctive short tale's jointly. Yep this could be a tragic one, whether it fairly is a real one and a lesson in life i will on no account ever forget approximately, she taught my nicely, and that i like her for it:)

Well, there you meet all the farm animals and that horse, and you are afraid of it. And you almost dislike each other. Then you start riding lessons, and start being friends, then you go out riding, fall off the horse, lose consciousness, and the horse goes back to the ranch and fetches help.

you could come up with some big fiasco to occur there. Try having your favorite horse stolen or some tornado come through, or have something happen to the ranch.

maybe you go on a trip with your horse, but you have to charter a small plane to take both of you there. the plane crashes in some snowy mountains, and you have to make horse jerky to survive.
