You are not Muslim for your parents, but only for Allah.
While you may disagree with their decisions you should realize they do have your best interest at heart.

I remember being in highschool and having girls hugging me all the time and I didn't realize till later how stupid it was. I don't want anyone touching up on me and I'm sinning. My parents never caught me so the guilt I lay on myself.

Your social life means crap if it's not the right life. Most Americans today describe their social life with "sex and alcohol". Is that what you want?

Focus, patience and remember who you are.

Oh i know exactly how you feel when my parents found out i was secretly doing modelling they literally wanted to kill me. I've stopped now because i was so scared they were going to deport me. But oh they still hav n't got over it yet, and now i feel like they're constantly watching me. They don't understand how difficult it is living as a muslim in a western society.
And their lack of faith only makes me want to just want to run wild.
I think you need to find a really good friend that they can trust and ask if you can sleep over at hers. truth wont do you any favours lol.

Well, that is why trust is something that must be earned. Tough lesson but very important. IT's far more crucial that you learn to be trustworthy than sociable.

Instead of feeling bad for yourself, think of how you can turn this situation around.

=( Extreme conservatism is definitely a mental sickness...but, make the most of the situation if you can...good luck!

My parents are the same way. I got grounded for an entire month because I read a harry potter book!!! And I'm 16 too!!
They still won't let me go over to my friend's houses or anything. Just because I read a harry potter book.

can you explain the situation a little more, why are they mad? what happened?

holy crap, your parents sound a little crazy, they brought you to America and they need to understand you are an American and Americans are way more relaxed then they are, they shouldn't of put you in an American school if they didn't want you to befriend American classmates
