The internet is not a place for unsupervised minors. Parents should monitor the internet use of their kids no matter what the website is. MySpace is not a horrible place on its own. Its not any worse than the internet.

I'm 19 and I've been on the website for about two years. It is not dangerous if you put your profile on private because then people who aren't your friends can't view it. You approve people to be your friends. You can also set your profile so you have to approve your comments before they are posted by friends. Try explaining to your parents how safe it can be and how you will use all of the security features and only talk to your friends. If they are still hesitant you can try Facebook which is another great friends network.

Myspace is way to keep in touch with friends, family and classmate but you only add friends, not new cool people and you always deny them also have too many fake profile such as celebrities, president etc.... if you think is fake, so don't add them. You can change your background on page and you can put graphics, videos, games, your favorite song, etc.... on page, comments and bulletins. But you must be 14 and older to sign up but ask parents and guardians permission to use this website. If you lying about your age, then they will terminate your account any reason also if you upload your pictures such as nudity, porn, etc...... can terminate too... Also you had to ready a policy before you sign up and be careful. Remember, don't put information on your page as address, phone number etc...... or you can set as private. Good Luck!

i don't things that wrong to have a myspace.. its just people use it in the wrong way
you can block your profile so that only your friends can see it...
and simply don't talk to people that you don't know
if you think that your going to be talking to a lot of people that you don't know then you shouldn't really use it.. unless your smart about it

depends, for minors under 14 it is, MySpace has a privacy option that do not allow ppl up 18 to view your profile, but many boys/girls wont do that cuz they want to meet ppl no matter wut age they are, so it prety much depends of the one who has Myspace...
but it is more safety than Hi5! hi5 do not control this...with hi5 anyone can watch your profile! information
