Ibuprofen at the first sign of cramps. Some natural practitioners suggest that PMS and period pain can be diminished by using progesterone in a cream you rub onto your skin, for the last two weeks of your cycle.

All the stuff the other people suggested are good. Also if you can sit or lay down with a hot water bottle on the area that is painful, provides some relief while the Ibuprofen kicks in.

im in the same boat rite now!
i usually take Aleve before or during the cramping session, and it starts to work about an hour later, but when it works, u just have a period, without the cramping
try a heating pad on ur stomach
just lay down and it will go away soon :)

I get the same thing but it's mostly in my stomach. I take three Aleve and in about 15 mins. I can feel a difference. It takes about 25 mins for the pain to completly go away and that keeps it away all day. Try that and see what you think.

Oh Honey, I suffer the same problem...it hurts like hell!
anyway, i usually take pills for it, and sometimes it doesn't work... but i see the best way to get over it is to relax in bed, and prepare a hot pillow of hot water, then put it on your tummy...it really helps alot.
if this doesn't work too, try a warm cup of Ginger...it has the property of relaxing contracted muscles... but drink it once a day, becos it makes your period blood flow!!
hope i made myself useful.

The only thing that has helped me ...increase your exercise and stay away from caffeine. The caffeine is a stimulant and increases the active cramps. Also, drink lots of water.....Motrin or Midol never hurt either.

I have never tried this, but it sounds like it would work...
Try a heat wrap...i think you can buy those at the drug store. or a hot water bottle on your stomach. Midol usually helps too.

Advil Liqui-gels, they are great. I also use a heating pad on my tummy or back when it hurts.
